WHO WE ARE
We are a non-profit organization committed to promoting the rights, safety, dignity, and well-being of Ugandan migrant workers and other Ugandans living abroad. We work collaboratively with government institutions, civil society organizations, diplomatic missions, recruitment agencies, employers, community leaders, development partners, and migrant communities to ensure that migration contributes positively to individuals, families, and national development.

We believe every migrant deserves accurate information, fair treatment, equal opportunity, access to justice, and respect for their human rights regardless of where they live or work.
WHY THIS ORGANIZATION EXISTS?
Migration has become one of Uganda’s major sources of employment and foreign income. Every year, thousands of citizens travel to countries in the Middle East, Europe, North America, Asia, and other African nations seeking opportunities to improve their lives.
Unfortunately, many migrants leave without sufficient information about recruitment procedures, employment contracts, labor laws, cultural expectations, or their rights in destination countries. Some become victims of trafficking, forced labor, exploitation, passport confiscation, physical abuse, non-payment of wages, or psychological distress. Families back home often struggle to obtain information or assistance when their loved ones experience difficulties abroad.
Our organization was founded to respond to these challenges by promoting safe, informed, and dignified migration. We believe migration should create opportunities—not suffering. By empowering individuals with knowledge, connecting them to trusted services, and advocating for stronger protection systems, we aim to reduce risks and improve outcomes for Ugandans wherever they are in the world.
OUR APPROACH
Our organization adopts a holistic, rights-based, and people-centered approach to promoting safe migration and protecting Ugandans living and working abroad. We recognize that migration is a journey with different stages—before departure, while abroad, during emergencies, and upon return home. Our interventions are designed to support migrants and their families at each stage.
COMMUNITY AWARENESS
Building Informed and Resilient Communities
Many migration challenges begin long before a person boards a plane. Misinformation, deceptive recruitment practices, unrealistic expectations, and limited access to reliable information can leave individuals vulnerable to exploitation.
Our community awareness initiatives educate individuals, families, and communities about the realities of labour migration. Through community engagement, we help people understand both the opportunities and risks associated with working abroad, enabling them to make informed decisions.

CAPACITY BUILDING
Strengthening Skills and Knowledge

Capacity building ensures that service providers, community leaders, volunteers, and migrants themselves are equipped to respond effectively to migration-related challenges.
